November memorial mass: The annual November memorial mass will precede the meeting. Meet 6pm at IC, open to parishioners as well. Monthly meeting to follow at the hall. No officer’s meeting this month.
How is your prayer life? That was Deacon Mel’s question in his homily on 10/26. How is your prayer life?
October was a busy month. SMS, St. Mary’s School, held their annual fundraiser, Marathon It, with help from about 6 KC members on site. On October 13, we held our annual Columbus Day dinner. Awarded funds to several local organizations helping the intellectually challenged. Also awarded past Grand Knight, Tim Bailey, as Knight of the Year and John and Marian Olander as Family of The Year. If you see them, congratulate them on their awards. We held a 1st degree exemplification at St. Patrick’s, Erin, on October 26. 5 young men became Knights of Columbus after the 11am mass. Luke Effertz, Jonathan Medini, Benjamin Dittman, Jordon Lyons, and Jacob Gross.
A big thanks to the 1st degree team for their hard work to make this all come together.
In October, we donated $500 to SMS to be used for the purchase of religious themed books for their library. We also donated $500 to Options On 8, a pregnancy resource center that provides emotional, spiritual, educational, and material support for women with unplanned pregnancies. When you support the knights, we in turn can support these worthy causes.
November 30th is the fifth Sunday of the month. KC’s sponsor fellowship in Corrigan Hall after 9am mass at IC. Looking for some Knights to volunteer serving and cleaning up after. Gluten free available.
Our council is looking for a member to take over as web page administrator. Tim has been doing this job for several years and is ready to move on. If you’ve been wondering how you could contribute as a knight and yet do it from home, this is your opportunity. Contact Tim Bailey or myself for more information.
