Officer’s meeting: 6:00PM Tuesday September 9.
OUR MISSION: Together, we’re empowering Catholic men to live their faith at home, in their parish, at work and in their community. This from the kofc.org web site.
Father John made available to August meeting attendees, a print out of a Prayer for the Canonization of Blessed Michael McGivney, our founder, along with a Litany of Blessed Michael McGivney.
Thanks to all who took time out of their busy schedules and stepped up to volunteer to make our annual Tootsie roll drive charitable fundraiser for the benefit of the intellectually disabled successful. A lot of planning and prep goes into this. Some guys worked multiple shifts. The money counters staffed the hall. Next year we may try to resurrect the Friday night Rat Pack from years ago. Also, thanks to Dick’s Fresh Market, WalMart, Farm & Home and Busy Bean for allowing us space. Kwik Trip donated monetarily. Please patronize these stores. These funds will be distributed to local entities who work with the intellectually disabled at our annual Columbus Day dinner in October. Plan to attend.
If you’ve ever wondered how some members get those sharp Knights of Columbus shirts or caps, here is the website: https://knightsgear.com/
Also, Moore imprints, downtown NR has our KC logo on file. Once you get some of this nice clothing you can even proudly wear it to church.
Mark Griffin-Boyle and Dennis Mitchell volunteered to organize and execute a PP&K contest on Aug.27. Thanks to Ed and Tim for helping out.
Our council is looking for a member to take over as web page administrator. Contact Tim Bailey or myself for more information.
Also looking for a young man or family to be responsible for mowing the grass at the hall. This is a paid position. Contact Troy Schmit or myself.
District Deputy Phil Mills has an opening for a diocesan activities director. Please contact Phil if you feel called to serve in this manner.
Congratulations to Phil Mills, Jeff Williams, Mike Hommer and Sam Strachan who represented our council and won the Somerset KC council golf tournament benefit on August 15 at Bristol Ridge.
Helen Donahue passed on Aug. 12. Helen was the widow of Pat Donahue and mother to Knights Brian, Terry and Dennis. Helen and Pat are former Knights of Columbus Family of the Year for our council. Rest in peace, Helen.
