Meeting held upstairs this month.
Officer’s meeting: 6pm Tuesday February 10. Regular meeting: 7pm
The Lenten liturgical season is a 40-day period of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving leading up to Easter, symbolizing Jesus' 40 days in the wilderness, and focusing on spiritual purification, repentance, and preparation for Christ's Passion, Death, and Resurrection, starting on Ash Wednesday, February 18, and concluding before the Easter Triduum.
The local Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship is February 8 at SMS gymnasium. 12:30 registration and contest beginning at 1pm. The district contest will be the following weekend. February 15 at Glenwood City High School. Brother Knight John Zipperer organizes this every year along with help from other knights. Please volunteer for this if you have time.
Thanks for all you do.
The Knights of Columbus Lenten Fish Frys will be on Feb. 27 & March 13. This is a fun annual event we put on. Many in the community look forward to this delicious meal. Last year we served nearly 400 meals on each of the 2 Fridays. Dine-in or drive thru available. 7pm Bingo follows the meal. Come and enjoy a meal, comradery and support the K of C’s who in turn support our parishes and community when called upon.
This event is man power intensive. We will need plenty of help this year as we will have 2 serving lines operating. Some of our “regulars” are ageing out or recuperating for one reason or another. So, at this point we are seriously short of helpers. Contact Rich Lyons @ 715-222-0474 if you can find it in your heart to help.
