Grand Knight Report:
We started our February meeting with a First Degree; I would like to welcome James Stabe and Don Jackelen to our brotherhood. I would like to thank Al and Mary Jo Lingen for putting on the Bingo Appreciation dinner. It was again a wonderful and delicious dining experience. It is for anyone who has helped with bingo the last year, and is paid for by tips we receive at the bar during our bingo sessions.
Please congratulate Sir Knight Vernon Conrad on achieving Honorary Life status on his 70th birthday, February 4th. Vern joined the Knights on March 28th 1978 and is a Fourth Degree Knight. Vernon attends all of our meetings and helps out whenever possible. Thanks Vernon, for your 38 years of service!
1st, 2nd, & 3rd Degrees
St Croix Council 1762 in Hudson is holding a first, second and third degree exemplification on Saturday, April 2nd, 2016.
Youth Activities:
Knight of Columbus free throw competition was held on Sunday, February 7th with the District level held immediately after. Thank you Doug Mills and your helpers for running these events. I would also like to thank Laura Jarchow, Principal at St. Mary’s for running our annual knowledge contest. Good luck to those competing at Ladysmith on Saturday, March 5th.
Bingo: Bingo is our major source of income for our council. Please contact Doug Mills with the dates that you are able to help with the games or come and play. In March we will also be playing bingo following the fish fries.
Fish Fry: We have set the dates for our annual fish fries. They are March 11 & 25th. We will be in need of as many members as we can get to help with these two Fridays. Please call Al @715-781-0095 if you can help. We also would appreciate any and all desserts brought in during these two days.
Food Drive: Ed Zimmerman can always use help on the 2nd Monday of each month, 11:30 a.m. at Wal-mart (southwest end of the building) to help load and deliver food to the food shelf.
Tootsie Roll Drive
The Tootsie roll drive will be held on April 21st through the 24th. Please make plans to help out with this fundraiser. We will have an online schedule to sign up on in the future.
