We started the October meeting with a first degree, We brought 3 new brother Knights into our brotherhood. I would like to congratulate Terry Lizakowski, Matt Bolton, & Ben Haen. Please welcome them when you see them.
Our council also held our annual Columbus Day dinner the weekend of the 18th. We had around 50 attend, which included representatives from St. Croix Valley Lumberjacks, Five loaves food shelf, and Immaculate Conception . We presented each with $500.00 checks after dinner. Each took a few minutes to tell the audience what they have used the funds for and what they have plans for in the future.
We also presented our annual awards. Mark Casey was named Knight of the Year, and Jim Utecht was named the Family of the Year. Please congratulate each one the next time you see them.
We will be having our annual Memorial Mass before our meeting on the 11th, please attend if you can.
We are looking for a Chairman for the Christmas poster contest. This is a wonderful job that does not take a large amount of time. Please let me know if you might like to help out.
Our District Deputy John Bonneprise presented our council with the Columbian Award at the October meeting.
We are still sending out over 100 newsletters through the mail. Please help us out on our time and mailing costs by providing your email address. You will receive your newsletter sooner and always have a copied saved where you know where to find it.
We received the 3 cases of coats we purchased through the Coats for Kids program. They have been given to St. Mary's and the church to be handed out to kids in need of a warm coat.
Bingo We will need help again this Bingo season. Bingo is the major money maker for our council; we will need help on Sunday nights and the last Friday night of each month. We would also love to see you and your families show up and try to win some of the big money we give out every session. Please let Doug Mills know what night you can help.
Squires
The Squires are still looking for young men to join their ranks, if you have a son or know of a Catholic young man, please encourage them to join. They have been meeting on the 1st Sunday @ 5:00 pm. Please contact Tony Kilian or Kevin Lorenz.
