Grand Knight Report: I hope everyone had a happy Fun Fest. The float in the parade was a hit as always. The Star Prairie Parade is August 21st but I do not know if we are scheduled to be in it with the float. At the end of last month’s meeting the subject of a summer picnic was brought up. Come to the meeting and tell us what you think.

Youth Activities: Our annual Punt, Pass, and Kick, and Soccer challenge is coming up right around the corner. We will need a chairman to coordinate each of these events. If you are interested in helping or chairing either or both of these events, please contact our program coordinator Doug Mills.
Bingo: We had bingo at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening during Fun Fest for .25 a card. On Saturday we did not have enough players so the games were canceled. Our progressive jackpot bingo will be returning on September 11th.
Food Drive: Ed Zimmerman can always use help on the 2nd Monday of each month, 11:30 a.m. at Wal-Mart (southwest end of the building) to help load food and deliver it to the food shelf.
Diocesan Meeting:
September 11th in Spooner. All Grand Knights, Deputy Grand Knights and Financial Secretaries should attend.
5th Sunday: Thanks to all who helped with the 5th Sunday donuts and coffee. The next one will be October 30th.

Keep them in your prayers: Sir Knight William H. Driscoll died July 25, 2016. Bill is a Past Grand Knight, Former District Deputy, and Past State Officer in the Knights of Columbus. Bill was also a charter member of the Fourth Degree Assembly, and State of Wisconsin Medallion recipient.
Bill joined the KC’s on April 30, 1972 and was extremely active in his 44 years of membership. In addition to running successful programs at the local, district, and state levels, Bill enjoyed many years of participation in the state sponsored golf, bowling, and softball tournaments. His son, Chris, is also a member of Council #2845. Please remember Bill, his wife Mari Beth, and their family in your prayers.
We are also sad to report the death of Sir Knight Richard (Dick) Scherber. Sir Knight Richard L. "Dick" Scherber died July 29, 2016. Dick is a Past Grand Knight of our council, and was a very active Knight for 46 years. Dick was also a charter member of the Lawrence P. Gherty Fourth Degree Assembly. Son Steve, also a Past Grand Knight in New Richmond, is also a KC member. Please remember the Scherber family in your prayers.
