Brother Knight Vernon R. Conrad died December 2, 2018. Vernon joined the Knights on March 28, 1978 and had 40 years of active service to our council. Vern was a 3rd Degree member of Council #2845, and also a charter member of the Lawrence P. Gherty Fourth Degree Assembly. Vernon was more than willing to do his part for our council, whether attending bingo, acquiring napkins and other donations from local businesses, or working the Tootsie Roll Drive. He rarely missed a meeting, and for his service was recognized as our 2018 Knight of the Year. Our prayers are with Vernon and his family and friends.
Grand Knight Report:
We will be having our Christmas potluck immediately after the meeting on December 11th. Please bring good cheer and a dish to pass.
This January our parish youth ministry will be joining with the diocese to attend the annual March for Life in Washington D.C. This is the first time our parish will be participating in the pilgrimage and there is a group of 19 going. At the last meeting there were still 18 spots available. Please contact Kendra Mitchell at 715-246-4652 X247 for more information. This will qualify our council for one of the mandatory activities for the Columbian Award.

John Zipperer will once again be heading up the Basketball Free Throw competition to be held at St Mary’s School on February 3, 2019. More information will be forth coming. Please let John know if you can help out.

State Charity Raffle Tickets for the State Knights of Columbus Charity Raffle are now available. Please contact Pat Earley if you need tickets. The $50,000 grand prize makes the tickets an easy sell, or a great investment if purchasing yourself. Help us continue the legacy of giving to the victims of accident, illness, and fire, while also supporting our future Priests through our annual support of seminarians.
Food Drive: Ed Zimmerman can always use help on the 2nd Monday of each month, 11:30 a.m. at Wal-Mart (s to help load food and deliver it to the food shelf.
