I would like to thank our long time Chaplain Father Jim for his service to our council and congratulate him on his upcoming retirement. Thank you, and I hope we will see you at a few of our future meetings.
Please remember to bring a dish to pass, as we are planning to celebrate Father Jim's retirement with a pot luck following the meeting on Tuesday night.
I would also like to thank all of the members of our council that helped with various fundraisers, bingo sessions, youth events, fish fries, and all the other tasks that help make a council operate as well as ours does. Over the last couple of years, I was the one that was told thank you as I handed out checks, but it wouldn't have been possible without the hours put in by all the volunteers, so again, let me thank everyone that helped make my job easier.
We will be electing a slate of new officers at our meeting this Tuesday night, if you're a third degree member and wish to run for office please let me know or have someone nominate you at the time of the election, all elected positions will be up for election.
I attended the High School scholarship award ceremony on Friday the 22nd of May, our council awarded three scholarships in the amount of $750.00 each to: Erin Earley, Leah Blader, and Dane Buchman, congratulations to all three.
We will be having our annual Fun Fest Bingo again this year on the 10th and 11th of July @ 7:00 pm. We will need volunteers to help out both nights. This is not one of our big money makers, but it is good family fun for all ages.
Past Grand Knight Dennis Hurtis has been elected Commander of the New Richmond American Legion Post 80, congratulate Dennis the next time you see him.
We are still sending out over 100 newsletters in the mail each month, if you have an email address, it would save us time and money to be able to send electronically, contact myself or Pat Earley.
