The annual Tootsie Roll drive for those with Intellectual Disabilities was held on April 19-22, 2018. We had a record year collecting over $6,300.00. Thank you to all of you that volunteered. There were several Brother Knights that took on more than one shift. Congratulation for a good year!!
Be present at the May meeting as those who volunteered will have their names put in a hat. Al Lingen and I will draw a name for the special prize.
The Knights of Columbus State Convention was recently held in Middleton, WI. Al Lingen, Pat Becker, Shawn Fox and myself attended. State officers were elected. A Blue Mass was held on Saturday morning honoring those that serve our communities, police, fire, sheriffs and EMTs. The mass was well attended in honor of those that put their lives on the line daily. There were also two inspirational speakers that spoke about Special Olympics and thanked the Knights for all that they do to support this valuable program.
Thank you to everyone who bought and sold State Raffle Tickets. We met our goal with a total of 1021 tickets sold. Top ticket sellers this year were Don Schoenherr with 79, Shawn Fox 78, Dean Mergen 55. Honorable mentions to Gary Jepson and Vern Conrad, who sold 28 each. This is an important source of charity funds for victims of fire, accident, and illness both in our council and throughout the state. Thanks again to everyone.
Patrick Earley, F.S.
